Red Tent has no Settings tab. Use this article to open Settings from the gear icon on Home, or show and hide tracking categories from the sliders icon in Daily Tracking. See the app navigation overview if Home is new to you.
Two icons, two destinations
- Gear icon (Home date header) — Opens the Settings hub: account, notifications, data, check-ins, and more.
- Sliders icon (Daily Tracking date header) — Opens a sheet to show or hide categories for the active pill (Symptoms or Life factors). Not the Settings hub.
- There is no Settings tab on the main tab bar.
- The iOS Settings app is separate. Use Red Tent Settings inside the app for account and tracking preferences.
Start on the Home tab
01
Home
Tap Home on the tab bar. See the app navigation overview if this is your first visit.
02
No Settings tab
Settings lives inside Home, not as its own tab.

✦The preview shows the Settings list the gear opens—not Daily Tracking or the category sheet.
01

At the top of Home, the date scroller shows the selected calendar day.
02

Tap the gear on the right side of the date header.

What you will find in Settings
- Profile & Account — Tap Set Up Profile or Edit Profile to open your account hub. Profile setup is in a separate help article.
- Tracking & Check-ins — Tracking Settings and Check-in Configurations rows. The section footer summarizes symptoms, life factors, and check-ins.
- Community — Community profile and notification preferences.
- Notifications — Opens notification preferences. Step-by-step detail is in a separate help article.
- Data — Research Data Sharing and Your Data rows. Research Data Sharing is optional, revocable, and server-side—separate from iCloud sync (see Privacy and legal). The section footer notes device storage and iCloud sync.
- Support & Info — Legal & Privacy, Contact Support (opens Mail), and Version (read-only).
- Account — Sign Out (confirmation alert) and Delete Account.
Each row opens its own screen. This article maps the hub only—follow related help articles for step-by-step detail on tracking, check-ins, data, or profile.

Tap the sliders on the right side of the Daily Tracking date header—not the gear on Home.
04

On the category sheet
01
Manage Symptoms Categories
The sheet title is Manage Symptoms Categories or Manage Life factors Categories, depending on the active pill.
02

04
Dismiss

✦Gear and sliders look similar but open different screens. Gear is app Settings; sliders is a quick category visibility sheet while logging.
When to use gear vs sliders
- Use gear when you need account, notifications, data, check-in schedules, community settings, or the full Tracking Settings list.
- Use sliders when you are already logging and want to quickly show or hide symptom or life-factor categories for the active pill.
- Settings → Tracking Settings and Advanced Settings (from the category sheet) open related tracking-preference screens—see the tracking preferences help article.
- Switch the Symptoms or Life factors pill before tapping sliders if you need to manage the other type's categories.
