Home shows symptoms and life factors for one calendar day at a time. If cards look empty or yesterday's logs seem gone, check the date header first, then whether that day was ever logged—background iCloud sync can take a moment after another device or import.
When you need this article
- You are signed in and past the first launch, but Home Daily check-ins look empty or out of date.
- You logged on another device and do not see those entries on this one yet.
- Symptoms or life factors you expect are missing for a specific day—not the whole app.
- Blocking Syncing data... on launch never finishes — see Syncing data on launch.
- Welcome screen iCloud or sign-in errors — see iCloud or Apple ID errors.
Check which day Home is showing
Everything under Daily check-ins applies to the calendar day in the date header—not necessarily today. To change the day with the weekly strip, Select Date sheet, or cycle ring, see Changing the date.
01
Date header
Shows month, day, and year for the selected calendar day. When that day is today, Today appears after the date.
02
Go to Today
Appears when you are viewing another day—tap to return Home to the current calendar day.
03
Daily check-ins
Symptoms and Life Factors rows reload for the selected day. Scroll the weekly strip or tap the date header if the day looks wrong before you troubleshoot sync.
Nothing logged for that day yet
- When no symptoms or life factors are saved for the selected day, each type shows Add—that is normal, not a sync failure.
- Filled cards appear only for items you already logged on that calendar date.
- Future dates can show empty rows because new log values cannot be saved ahead of today.
- To add or fix entries on a past day, change the date first—see Editing past days.
✦Red Tent stores one daily log per calendar day. An empty Add row usually means you have not logged that type on the day in the header—not that iCloud lost your data.
Give iCloud time to catch up
- After the first launch sync finishes, iCloud keeps merging logs in the background—Home updates when those changes arrive.
- Stay signed in with the same Apple ID on each device and keep network available while you wait on Home.
- Switching away and returning is fine; there is no separate Syncing data... screen for day-to-day updates.
- Pull-to-refresh on Home reloads Recommended for You only—it does not re-download symptom or life-factor logs.
- If rows stay empty for the correct day after a reasonable wait, force-quit Red Tent PMDD once and reopen while online.
🔒Daily logs live in your private iCloud tied to your Apple ID—not on Red Tent servers. See Data storage and iCloud for what sync covers and when iCloud being unavailable affects access.
After import or on another device
- CSV or HealthKit import in Settings writes to your local store and iCloud—when you return to Home, check-ins refresh for the date in the header.
- Pick the calendar day you imported or logged on the other device before deciding data is missing.
- Large histories can take longer to appear on a new device after the first launch sync.
Still missing data
- Syncing data... on launch never completes — see Syncing data on launch.
- iCloud unavailable messages or forced sign-out — see iCloud or Apple ID errors.
- Questions about where data is stored or iCloud limits — see Data storage and iCloud.
- Need to log or edit a specific past day — see Editing past days and Changing the date.
