Use this guide to turn Research Data Sharing on or off and choose which anonymized patterns you contribute. Daily tracking still syncs through your private iCloud unless you separately opt in here.

🔒Research sharing is optional and revocable. It is separate from iCloud sync and from export or delete in Your Data. Your identity is never shared—read the Research Data Sharing Notice and Privacy Policy before you opt in.

How this differs from iCloud sync and Your Data

  • iCloud sync — Your cycle and symptom logs stay on your device and sync privately with your iCloud. The Data Management footer in Settings explains this boundary.
  • Research Data Sharing — Optional anonymized contribution for PMDD research when you opt in. Consent is recorded on your device; scope is defined in the Research Data Sharing Notice and Privacy Policy.
  • Your Data — Export, import, and selective delete for backups on your device—not the same as research consent. See Your data in Settings.
  • Legal & Privacy — Terms and Privacy Policy live under Legal & Privacy, not on this screen. See Privacy and legal.
You can turn sharing off anytime—the master toggle withdraws consent. Your private iCloud logs are not affected when you change this setting.
