Log each new cycle start date after your first cycle is set up so Home can update cycle day, phases, and next-event estimates. This article is about managing cycles with Track Period—not logging Period Flow as a daily symptom. It covers Track Period from the + menu, confirming saves, and what changes on Home—not first-time setup.

What you're logging

  • Each log marks the first day of a new cycle—your bleeding start date on the calendar, not Period Flow intensity cards in Daily Tracking.
  • The calendar shows a preview of phase colors before you save; nothing writes to your history until you tap Save.
  • Cancel rolls back a preview you have not saved yet; Done closes the screen when there is no pending preview.
  • Future dates cannot be selected—pick today or an earlier day only.
  • Period Flow is separate—if you log flow on the first day of a predicted follicular phase, the app extends the menstrual phase and readjusts predicted phases to match.

01
Phase name
The circular tracker on Home shows your current phase for the date you are viewing.
02
Day
The cycle day number below the phase name updates from your saved period history.
03
Next event line
The line under the tracker estimates your next ovulation or period—it is a forecast, not a medical prediction.
04
start new cycle
When you are viewing today late in the luteal phase, a start new cycle button may appear below the tracker. It logs today as a new period start immediately—no calendar preview.
Next ovulation and period lines are estimates—the app learns your cycle length as you log more periods. Logging at least two periods sharpens those predictions a lot.
🔒Period and cycle data stay on your device and sync through your private iCloud—they are not stored on Red Tent servers. Optional research data sharing is separate and revocable anytime in Settings.
