Community is where you read and share posts with other members—not daily logging on Home or charts in Reports. This overview covers the Explore, My Posts, and Saved sub-tabs and the controls every post card shares.
What Community is for
One Community screen holds three sub-tabs—Explore, My Posts, and Saved—in that order. The app opens Explore by default unless you arrive via a deep link. Public posts sync through CloudKit; your reactions, bookmarks, blocks, and rules acceptance stay private to your Apple ID.
Open Community from the main app
01
Community
Tap Community on the bottom tab bar to open the feed. Re-tap the tab while you are already on Community to scroll the active feed to the top.
02
Add-post icon
The screen title reads Community. Tap the add-post icon on the right on Explore or Saved to open the compose sheet.
03
Explore
The sub-tab row shows Explore, My Posts, and Saved in that order. Tap any label to switch feeds without leaving Community.
First visit — accept Community rules
01
Community
On your first visit, a full-screen Community rules screen appears when you have not yet accepted the rules. The feed stays blocked until you accept.
02
Accept & Continue
Loads the feed for the sub-tab you selected. Read the full rules text and consequences in the Community rules help article.
03
Cancel
Cancel returns you to the Home tab. The feed remains blocked until you accept the rules on a later visit.
Explore, My Posts, and Saved
- Explore — public posts from all members, newest first. Pull to refresh for newer posts. The header add-post icon opens the compose sheet—see Browsing Explore for detail.
- My Posts — inline composer at the top; your published posts appear below when the editor is collapsed—see Managing My Posts for detail.
- Saved — bookmarked posts only, sorted by post date. When nothing is saved, the empty state reads No saved posts—see Saved posts for detail.
Switch sub-tabs and browse Explore
01
Explore
Tap Explore, My Posts, or Saved in the sub-tab row to switch feeds. On Explore, scroll the feed and pull down to refresh for newer public posts.
02
Anonymous User
Each post card shows the author avatar, display name or Anonymous User, a relative timestamp, body text, and an optional image grid.
03
You've reached the end!
When pagination ends, a footer reads You've reached the end! On Explore, a pull-to-refresh hint appears below it.
04
Add-post icon
On Explore and Saved, tap the header add-post icon to open the compose sheet. After you publish, the feed refreshes—see Creating a post for step-by-step detail.
✦The feed preview shows Explore with sample post cards—not the My Posts inline composer or the Saved empty state. The comment count hides when zero, but the Comment as … bar may still appear when the card layout includes it.
Like, comment, save, and more
- Like — the heart control toggles your reaction on a post. The label may read Like or Likes in English until localization ships.
- Comment — when a post has comments, a count appears on the card. Otherwise use the Comment as … bar below the post. Either opens the Comments sheet—see Comment threads for detail.
- Bookmark — tap the bookmark control to save a post to Saved. Tap again on the same control to remove it from Saved.
- Report Post — tap the overflow menu (⋯) on a post. On others' posts, choose Report Post or Block @user / Block Anonymous User. On your own posts, choose Edit or Delete Post.
- Post images — tap an image in the grid to open a full-screen carousel.
Safety tools and Community rules
01
Report Post
On others' posts, open the overflow menu (⋯) and choose Report Post or Block @user / Block Anonymous User to limit what you see from that member.
02
Block Anonymous User
After you report or block, that content is filtered from your feeds—it is not removed globally for everyone.
03
Community rules
On first visit, rules appear before the feed loads. Expected behavior, prohibited content, and safety tools are covered in the Community rules help article.
04
Comment as
Compose and comment flows run Community Guidelines acceptance and a publish-time keyword check when needed. See Community safety for the full publish flow.
Create a post from Explore or Saved via the header add-post icon, or from My Posts via the inline composer at the top—see Creating a post and Managing My Posts for each path.
🔒Community posts and public author profiles live in CloudKit Public Database. Your reactions, bookmarks, blocks, and rules acceptance sync privately through iCloud with your Apple ID—they are not stored on Red Tent servers for MVP.
